Award-Winning Words

  • The George D. Murphy Award in Creative Writing honors a longtime faculty member in the Villanova English department.

    My experimental long-form poem, “I dream of the bustling airport”, was a standout among the collection I submitted. An excerpt was read aloud during the 2022 English Honor Society Inductee Ceremony.

  • My essay, entitled ‘Unrealistic Expectations: Miltonic Marriage and the Fall’, won Villanova University’s 2021 Jerome J. Fischer Memorial Award. Centered on the power dynamics between Adam and Eve in John Milton’s epic, Paradise Lost, it explores when the Fall of humanity becomes inevitable, through an interpersonal lens.

    This recognition is given annually to the most distinguished undergraduate essay written in a Villanova English course.

I’m a creative with a unique educational background that marries the technical and the artistic. A 2022 Villanova University graduate, I studied English, Peace & Justice, Humanities, and Astrophysics. I’m a lifelong, passionate writer with a love for communication, storytelling, and continually expanding my craft.

I entered the creative space in 2016, taking on photography and videography projects for friends, family, and local businesses. Since then, I’ve photographed and filmed everything from headshots and engagements to events and creative projects, while developing a strong eye for visual storytelling and direction.

In 2019, I turned my childhood “Clubhouse” into a mini art studio and launched The Lil Clubhouse. What began in a shed in my backyard grew into a commission-based art business serving clients around the world. I create handmade artwork ranging from traditional painting and sketching to refurbished thrifted pieces with a hand-painted flair.

As a professional, I have experience in social media marketing, communications, content creation, and education. I began my professional career with Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, creating and implementing STEM programming and curriculum for youth.

My time at Great Lakes Brewing Company brought me into the world of professional marketing communications, where I spent more than two years creating content and communications that connected the brewery’s brands, products, and experiences with its audiences.

I am now the Social Media & Communications Coordinator at Laurel School in Shaker Heights and Novelty, OH.
